Help! I have a flea infestation
As soon as fleas are detected on the pet, eggs, larvae and cocoons will be present in the surrounding environment. The treatment of the animal, for example, with Advantage, ensures that the adult fleas die quickly.
A spray should be used in the area to combat the larvae, which are hiding everywhere. One should choose a spray with a so-called "IGR action", such as Bolfo Fleegard® Spray.
Such a spray acts briefly against adult fleas and prevents flea larvae from developing further. However, there is no pesticide against the cocoons. The adult fleas that emerge from the cocoons die as soon as they come into contact with the treated animal or environment. It may be necessary to treat the environment again. Generally one has to take into account two or three weeks before the entire flea population is eradicated.
